Oakmont Of Valencia To Have Added Emphasis On Memory Care

The luxury Santa Clarita senior living community Oakmont of Valencia is set to have an added emphasis on memory care when it opens its doors this summer.

Following the success of Oakmont of Santa Clarita, the decision was made to open a second location designed to meet the need for seniors living with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.

“We are really focused on our memory care at this community, although our assisted living program is going to be incredible as well,” said Mary Dembkowski of Oakmont of Valencia.

The memory care part of the community is expected to have caregivers on staff 24 hours a day, seven days a week, according to Dembkowski.

“Our caregivers are especially trained to deal with the behaviors and everything that comes along with Alzheimer’s and dementia,” she said. “Our programming is a little bit different; the activities are geared to those that are suffering with memory loss.”

While Oakmont of Santa Clarita has just one movie theater onsite, Oakmont of Valencia is set to have two: one for assisted living residents and one for memory care residents.

Construction at Oakmont of Valencia is currently underway, and the new community is expected to open its doors in July, with reservations now being accepted, according to Dembkowski.

Oakmont is a luxury senior living community in Santa Clarita.
