SCV Pregnancy Center officials are continuing to near the fundraising goal they set after purchasing a brand new building in Valencia, and are now $100,000 away from paying off their loan entirely.

“We’re excited to share we are only $100,000 away from retiring our complete loan,” said Brendie Heter of the SCV Pregnancy Center. “We have some great supporters, we have some great community members, and we’re really hoping we can end 2019 100 percent debt-free.”

In October, the organization announced that they were $300,000 off from their goal, meaning that they managed to raise a whopping $200,000 in the last two months alone, according to Heter.

“That’s a huge deal,” she said. “Santa Clarita is amazing, and we have some of the most generous people, I think, in the world who live here. We are excited to continue to serve our lovely community.”

In addition to paying off the new building, SCV Pregnancy Center officials are in the process of expanding their services with the goal of helping those who may not be able to visit the center in person.

“We’re looking into some education via technology that’s never been before in our office, and we’re really excited about that,” Heter said, giving one-on-one counseling through video chat as an example.

“(We’re) really making sure that we are kind of a holistic approach, so we’re not just giving them services and sending them on their way,” Heter continued. “We really want to circle around them, not just emotionally, but physically, spiritually and healthwise, and really help them.”
