Warrior Fitness Offers Marine Corps-Style Boot Camp Classes In Santa Clarita

Santa Clarita Valley residents have the chance to participate in Marine Corps-style boot camp classes at Warrior Fitness Camp’s new location in Canyon Country, camp officials announced Wednesday.

After outgrowing a 5,400 square-foot location in Valencia, camp officials recently made the move to a 14,000 square-foot building on Diamond Place, where they offer a fully equipped gym with a lounge area and lockers.

“The camp is based on military and law enforcement training,” said owner and former Marine Tchicaya Missamou. “We believe that the mind controls the body and the discipline. It’s all about teamwork.”

As the first and only Marine Corps-style boot camp in Santa Clarita, Missamou encourages anyone looking for the opportunity to challenge or discover themselves to attend a free trial class.

“The Warrior Fitness Camp is a place where it’s made for everyone, regardless of the shape of the body or the color of the skin,” he said. “We embrace everybody… It’s a family.”

Classes are one hour in length and are offered from 4:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. seven days a week.

Some classes are heated from 80 to 110 degrees, which Missamou said “prevents injuries” and helps encourage attendees to drink more water.

In addition to cardio, spinning, crossfit, boxing, martial arts and self-defense classes, instructors also take members hiking, cycling and shooting and do beach training in Santa Monica.

Residents can purchase six-month or one-year memberships and attend as many or as few boot camp classes as they wish throughout the week.

“We find camaraderie like a family,” Missamou said. “If they were lost, they will find a way out. If they couldn’t speak, they will find a voice… I am not the only owner (of Warrior Fitness). The owners are all the warriors at Warrior Fitness Camp.”
