2020 Santa Clarita Holiday Light Guide

Each year, neighborhoods in Santa Clarita create holiday light displays for the community, and this year is no different.

For the 2020 holiday season, various neighborhoods and areas in Santa Clarita are putting together light displays.

Wakefield Winter Wonderland at Wakefield Court plans to hold its annual display as usual this year, although some adjustments have been made to its usual exhibit.

The Saugus neighborhood says community decorations like candy canes and the Wakefield sign will not be used, not all neighbors are participating, and visitors are asked to drive by to see the lights or wear masks and physically distance if walking by.

The neighborhood is known for its intricate and sizable holiday decorations. It has been dubbed “Candy Cane Lane” because of the distinctive red and white candy cane colors that wrap the street lights.

Last year, Wakefield Court was at the top of a list for the best Christmas light displays in Santa Clarita compiled by KHTS.

One of the houses in Wakefield Court took third place in KHTS’s Holiday Lights Tour list of the top three best-decorated homes in the valley in 2016.

In past years, other streets have been recognized for their light displays as well.

Canterwood Drive and Homestead Place in Saugus were recognized by KHTS as great places to look at holiday decorations last year.

Canterwood Drive’s display included a 12-foot-tall Christmas tree at the end of the cul-de-sac in 2019.

Homestead Place, renamed “Homestead Holiday” in the 2019 holiday season, featured lights strung across the street between houses.

Also in Saugus, Silverking Trail and Ash Court have been known for their past holiday decor.

In Valencia, Clearidge Drive, which links several cul-de-sacs with holiday decorations, was noted for its adornments.

Additionally, in the same neighborhood, Welshfield Way and Essex Place have been known for their light displays in past years. Essex Place has been known as “Reindeer Road” as the 8 homes in the cul-de-sac have each been transformed into one of Santa’s reindeer during past holiday seasons.

Also in Valencia, Angelica Place, Avenida Avila, Crown Court Circle, Meraweather Place, Clifton Place, Blueridge Drive, Essex Place, Chesterfield Drive, Philbrook Avenue, Landon Place and Littleton Way have all set up displays in the past.

Stevenson Ranch’s Brooks Circle was noted for its tunnel of lights. Neighbors string lights between the houses on the street each year, making the road look like a tunnel when the lights light up each night.

Reade Place and Cotton Blossom Lane are also streets in Stevenson Ranch that have been decked out for the holidays in the past.
