Caltrans will close up to three lanes of the northbound I-5 from Magic Mountain Parkway to Lake Hughes Road north of Santa Clarita between the hours of 7 p.m. and 8 a.m. , until Thursday, September 3 for construction.
The closures are part of a pavement restoration project on the I-5 between Calgrove Boulevard and Lake Hughes Road . Security Paving, Inc. is the contractor on the $9.3 million project, which started in September 2008 and will complete in early 2010.
The project repairs storm damage incurred in the winter of 2007-08. When completed, the pavement will be stronger and will provide a smoother riding surface for motorists.
