“She had two kittens of her own and she also fostered three kittens, so she’s a really good mom,” said Nikkole McNulty, a kennel attendant at St. Bonnie’s.KHTS Adopt a Pet- Violette

All five of Violette’s babies were adopted, but their shy, now 3-year-old mother needs a special adopter who is willing to be patient and give her time to adjust.

“She’s really shy around new people, but once she gets to know you, she’s really cuddly,” McNulty said. “She’s very playful, she likes the little dangly toys.”

An independent cat, Violette has adapted well to the free-roaming cat enclosure at St. Bonnie’s, and gets along well with the other cats, and dogs too.

McNulty pointed out the unique upside-down heart shape of the black and white coloring on Violette’s face, adding that she believes anyone could be happy with her as their feline companion.

“She’s been here for two years, so she really needs to go home,” McNulty said. “She’s one of the cats that’s been here the longest.”

About the KHTS Adopt a Pet Series

Every Wednesday, the KHTS Adopt a Pet series features an adoptable animal from the Santa Clarita Valley in need of a home. The KHTS Features team travels to different rescues and shelters in Santa Clarita to meet the pets and tell their stories in hopes of helping them get adopted. First launched in August 2016, the series has partnered with seven local rescues, as well as the Castaic Animal Shelter, to showcase more than 40 dogs, cats and bunnies, and has seen 30 — and counting — adoptions so far. The series was created by Features Director Melissa Lampert, who has more than 10 years of experience in the animal rescue world and co-founded Madeline’s Angels Pet Sanctuary in Santa Clarita in 2016.
