Driver not wearing seat belt.

Cyrus E. Stoddard, 19, of Paso Robles, died Thursday morning near Castaic when the F-150 pickup truck he was driving rear-ended a Caltrans sweeper detail. The sweeper was working in the center divider near the southbound lanes of the freeway.

Stoddard's passenger, 19-year old Nicholas Rademacher of Atascadero, was wearing his seat belt and received moderate injuries.  

Caltrans closed the #1 and #2 lanes for approximately four hours after the accident.
