Citing growing concerns about community safety and the need for stronger economic pathways, David W. Neidhart officially announced his candidacy for the U.S. House of Representatives in California’s 27th Congressional District.
Neidhart vowed to champion policies that make neighborhoods safer, support working families, and expand access to good-paying local jobs.
“Families in our 27th District deserve safe streets, stable communities, and real opportunities to build a better future,” said Neidhart. “I’m running for Congress to bring practical solutions—strengthening public safety, investing in local job creation, and ensuring that every resident has the opportunity to succeed.”
Neidhart emphasized that too many residents feel the effects of rising crime, limited economic mobility, and underfunded community services. He pledged to fight for increased federal support to better equip fire departments, EMS crews, and local law enforcement with the training, tools, and staffing they need to respond quickly and effectively.
“Our first responders put their lives on the line every day, and they deserve the resources and respect that allow them to do their jobs safely and efficiently,” Neidhart said.
On economic opportunity, Neidhart highlighted the importance of preparing young people and working adults for stable careers. His campaign supports expanding job-training, trade education, and vocational certification programs at the high school, community college, and regional training-center levels. These programs would help students and job seekers access skilled trades, technical fields, and emerging industries without the burden of excessive debt.
“By strengthening workforce development—from high school shop programs to advanced technical training—we can open doors for thousands of local residents,” Neidhart added. “Everyone in our district should have a pathway to a secure career, whether through college, trade programs, or hands-on vocational training.”
Neidhart’s campaign will focus on supporting law enforcement partnerships, bolstering emergency services, expanding workforce training programs, protecting small businesses, and ensuring that new industries and infrastructure projects translate into real employment opportunities for local workers.
“Everyone in our district should feel secure in their homes and confident that their hard work can provide for their families,” Neidhart said. “It’s time for leadership that listens, responds, and gets results.”

The last thing this district needs is another GOP yes man for the Trump administration. Your platform is laughable, especially given Trump is trying to disband the DOE and is redefining “professional degrees” to eliminate federal student loans for advanced degrees in nursing, education, mental health and others. What about the 15% of people in CA-27 that need SNAP benefits? Are you for cutting their $6 a day they get for food? What about subsidies to help people keep their health insurance under the ACA? The best way to address crime is to address poverty not toss out the same fear mongering GOP crap.
George Whiteside is a way better representative for CA-27 than you, Mike Garcia or any other GOP stooge. You’ll find that out at the ballot box.
