Garcia Calls On Biden Administration To Expedite Foreign Military Aid For Israel

Congressman Mike Garcia, R-Santa Clarita, sent a letter to Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin urging them to expedite current Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Foreign Military Financing (FMF) for Israel during the war with Hamas.

In the letter, Garcia and his colleagues express the urgency with which we must provide our strongest ally the necessary resources to win the war against this evil.

“In response to the massacre in Israel committed by Hamas and the ensuing war, we write today to emphasize the importance of expediting Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Foreign Military Financing (FMF) aid to Israel,” the lawmakers wrote.

This letter highlights the promises made to Israel by the Biden administration that have yet to be fulfilled.

“Israel must urgently strengthen their ability to deter Iran’s dedicated support for terrorist groups across the Middle East – which we know extends directly to Hamas and Hezbollah,” the lawmakers wrote. “[President Biden] recently stated that ‘the message that I bring to Israel is this – you may be strong enough on your own to defend yourself, but as long as America exists you will never, ever have to.’ Now is the time to deliver on this promise and reinforce that our commitments are iron-clad.”

Rep. Garcia and his colleagues emphasize the danger of delayed aid to Israel, as peer adversaries like Russia and China assess America’s response.

“In recent years, members of Congress have repeatedly called for the expedited delivery of approved sales and weapons transfers to Israel to improve the country’s ability to counter Iranian aggression, both direct and via proxies,” the lawmakers wrote.

About Carl Goldman

Carl Goldman, along with his wife, Jeri repurchased KHTS AM-1220, Santa Clarita’s hometown station on October 24, 2003. They owned it from 1990-1998, and then sold it to Clear Channel Communication in 1998, buying it back from Clear Channel in 2003. Since then, they have rebuilt KHTS as a critical voice of the Valley. In 2015 the radio station moved to its new headquarters on Main Street in Old Town Newhall, in the original Newhall Hardware building. In 2018 an FM was added, 98.1, with its signal being simulcast with AM-1220. In January 2020, Carl and Jeri cruised on the Diamond Princess. Carl was one of the first Americans to come down with Covid-19. Months earlier he was impacted by Guillain Barre Syndrome as a result of a Shingles vaccine in September 2019. He is still in recovery from the vaccine.
