The City Council discussed the the proposed project, and the three possible options for alignment

The three options involve connecting Dockweiler Dr. to either Lyons Avenue, Market Street, or 13th Street. The environmentally superior option would be to connect to 13th Street, according to officials.

In the past, officials justified the road extension because they believed that it would improve the traffic and accessibility of the Placerita Canyon and Newhall communities.

Every one of the residents who spoke publicly about the project at the Tuesday city council meeting said they were against the extension. City Council members took notice of the public’s response.

“When we have this many people come forward, it deeply concerns me,” said Councilman Bob Kellar. Because of the outcry, City Council members said they wanted to look further into the matter, and moved to delay the decision.

Further discussions regarding the extension of Dockweiler will be held on April 10.

  1. What about the Wiley canyon to whites canyon road that was suppose to be built years ago. Certainly don’t need the dockweiler extension.
