Meet The New Commissioners For The City Of Santa Clarita

Meet the new members appointed to various City commissions by the members of Santa Clarita City Council.

Arts Commission

The Arts Commission has the authority and responsibility, with the exception of any provisions of law to the contrary, to: provide guidance to the City Council on all matters related to arts programming and public art; collaborate with other governmental agencies and civic organizations in the advancement of sound arts development and arts planning and programming.

Jeri Seratti-Goldman: Co-owner of KHTS AM-1220/98.1 FM. She has over four decades of major market radio experience. She began her career in radio in 1979 at the Los Angeles radio station, KZLA/KLAC. Seratti-Goldman’s specialty and passion is utilizing her forty plus years of marketing expertise to guide the radio station’s clients to grow and thrive even during these challenging times.

She was appointed by Councilmember Patsy Ayala

Tracey Thompson: She has actively participated in various Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) boards and the Little People of America board, advocating for children with dwarfism. She serves as the Liaison for The Painted Turtle Camp, a non-profit camp for children with serious illnesses. She is an Actor and has been in the Entertainment Industry for 35 years

Appointed by Councilmember Jason Gibbs.

Planning Commission

The Planning Commission is responsible for investigating and making recommendations to the City Council on various city planning matters. Its duties include reviewing proposals for major public works projects and acquisitions of property for streets, parks, or other public uses. The commission advises the City Council on specific plans, regulations, and amendments, as well as conducting public hearings on proposed zoning changes.

Timothy Burkhart: Over 40 years of experience with Six Flags and has held supervisory and management positions in all aspects of theme and water park operations. He currently holds the position of Corporate Vice President- Maintenance and Construction and oversees the Maintenance and Construction functions for all 26 Six Flags parks in North America.

In addition to his North American park responsibilities, Tim is a senior executive on the International Development team, charged with the development and design of new internationally licensed Six Flags Parks. He has worked on multiple new International theme and water parks in Saudi Arabia, Dubai, China, and Mexico.

Burkhart is a graduate of William S. Hart High School, attended College of the Canyons, and graduated from California State University, Northridge. He holds Bachelors’ and Masters’ Degrees, as well as numerous technical certifications.

He was reappointed by Councilmember Jason Gibbs.

Pamela Verner: She joined SCV Commercial Real Estate in 2007.  She has been a resident of the Santa Clarita Valley since 1981. She was recognized as a 2016, 2018, 2019,  2020, 2022, and 2023 Power Broker by the Santa Clarita Valley Economic Development Corporation and was voted “Ultimate” commercial real estate agent by Elite Magazine’s reader poll for 2023. SCV Commercial.

Verner is a member of CoStar/Loopnet, AIRCRE, The SCV Chamber of Commerce, and VIA and serves on the Board of Directors for the Santa Clarita Valley Boys and Girls Club and Circle of Hope Cancer Support Center.

She was appointed by Mayor Bill Miranda to fill an unscheduled vacancy.

Nathan Keith: Keith first joined Tejon Ranch Co. in 2007 and rose through the ranks to become Vice President of Real Estate. He left in 2021 to join Williams Homes, a Santa Clarita, CA-based real estate development and homebuilding company, where he served as Director of Entitlements.

He was appointed by Councilmember Patsy Ayala.

Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Commission

The Parks, Recreation, and Community Services Commission have the authority and responsibility, with the exception of any provisions otherwise specified by law, to: provide guidance to the City Council on all matters related to parks and public recreation; collaborate with other governmental agencies and civic organizations to promote sound park and recreation planning and programming.

Hugo Cherre: The owner of Hugo’s Gymfitness has been coaching gymnasts for more than 40 years, helping athletes reach national prominence.

His gym promotes an active lifestyle and fitness for the whole family. The gymnastics classes increase flexibility and stamina, through tumbling, dance and choreography.

He was appointed by Councilmember Patsy Ayala.

Dennis Sugasawara: Sugasawara is a long-time resident of Santa Clarita and serves as the Vice President of Cardenas Legacy Tequila, located in the Santa Clarita Valley. In addition to his accomplished Military background, Mr. Sugasawara had a previous career in the entertainment industry.

He was appointed by Councilmember Jason Gibbs.
