On Monday, Smith’s campaign issued a statement officially conceding to Garcia.
“This is not the end result we fought for, but I am proud of the strong, grassroots campaign we ran,” she said. “We exhausted every possible option, and did everything within our power to ensure that every voice in this election was heard. Nonetheless, we came up short.”
Both Los Angeles and Ventura Counties certified their results Monday, with 333 votes separated the two candidates.
“It’s been a tough election, but the fight has been worth it,” Garcia said in a statement issued Monday. “I am looking forward to two more years. Thank you CA-25!”

Garcia had previously declared victory on Nov. 20, stating that “with only a few remaining ballots to be counted, victory is clear.”
“I am honored by the supporters who voted for me and humbled by those who did not,” Garcia said in a statement issued Friday. “In the end, I will work hard for each and every one of you. And for our Nation.”
Later that night, Smith released a statement in response, calling Garcia’s declaration “dangerous to our democratic process.”
“The Congressman’s decision is wholly inappropriate, and disrespectful of those who have taken the time to vote this year,” she said at the time. “Our county officials and Secretary of State Alex Padilla have done a phenomenal job of protecting every voter’s right to be heard in the most challenging election of our lifetime. We owe them and especially our voters our continued patience as the process is completed.”
The results as of Monday afternoon can be seen below:
Mike Garcia – R – Incumbent | 169,638 — 50.05% |
Christy Smith – D |
169,305 — 49.95%

County officials across the state of California have until the beginning of December to report their final results to the state for the presidential race, while they have until Dec. 4 to report the results for all other races. The state then has one week from that deadline to certify the results of the 2020 election.

Felicidades – Great News Mike Garcia.
We need you to represent us again in Congress. Many
God Blessings to you and your family and our nation.
Congratulations to Congressman Garcia. Please continue to uphold modern day conservative Republican values and principles for the 25th District.
If Christy Smith would’ve won this election she would be no more than a puppet who takes orders from Nancy Pelosi (the Witch), AOC + 3 (Marxist Squad), and King Gavin Newsom. Also, amen for the City of Santa Clarita for opting out to become a California – crime invested sanctuary city. Just look at the s-hole that LA City and San Francisco has become under Democrat politians. It is proof that everything the atheists Democrats touch turns to crap. Everything.
WELL SAID!
I’m sure they turned over every rock looking for a dead voter.
Get a real job! Try producing something of value.
Outstanding! ????
Congrats to Mike Garcia! There’s hope after all even in California! It goes to show people are starting to wake up and see the truth!
You wonder why she would not contest and want a recount with just 333 votes out of 340,000 votes..could it be she did not want to expose voter fraud by the democrats . Just very strange she would not want to contest this race given it was so close .
