Assemblywoman Pilar Schiavo (D-Chatsworth) is joining the Samuel Dixon Family Health Center (SDFHC) for their annual Turkey Giveaway in order to help support families in need on Thanksgiving.
The event is scheduled to take place on Saturday, Nov. 18 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. located at 25115 Avenue Stanford in Santa Clarita.
Schiavo is set to be serving as sponsor of the event and as well as helping to package the turkey and handing them out to families.
The Samuel Dixon Family Center has established relationships with the families they treat and identified which families need the support on Thanksgiving.
SDFHC is a non profit organization that helps to provide affordable and accessible primary healthcare, dental, mental health and enrollment services to all residents of the Santa Clarita Valley and other underserved neighboring communities.
SDFHC has specialized programs for health, families, women and several others for those who need help.
This year’s goal is to feed 200 families, according to officials.
