Garcia Comments On Election Of House Speaker Kevin McCarthy

Representative Mike Garcia (R-Santa Clarita) released a statement on the election of  Kevin McCarthy as U.S. House of Representatives speaker Saturday.

In the statement on McCarthy’s election released Saturday, Garcia commented on the democratic process.

“After many discussions and compromises on rules (many of which will make the House better), I’m glad that consensus was established and that we have elected our Speaker,” Garcia said. “I look forward to getting back to work under the leadership of Speaker McCarthy. It’s time to hit the ground running, repair the damage caused by failed far-left policies, and get our nation back on track.”

The House speaker was elected after several days of negotiations and 15 rounds of voting.

It was the longest contest for speaker in 164 years.

McCarthy dismissed concerns that the drawn-out election could be a precursor to future conflict in the House.

“Democracy isn’t always pretty,” Garcia said. “This process was not about Kevin McCarthy, this process was about the 330 million Americans, about the preservation of our Constitution and the liberties guaranteed therein, about the 246 years of pride and providence that we have enjoyed as a nation.”

Garcia delivered a speech during the 12th round of votes in support of McCarthy.

  1. Yeah Garcia, he sold his soul for power & greed to QANONS/tRumpites. The final minutes tRump was on the phone dictating & the most uneducated one of all MTGreene was holding the phone! Obviously the democrats spend money for people & they didn’t run a 3 ring circus with lack of integrity like this party. So, where were these Patriots on Jan. 6th when only one Republican had the spine to show up on the steps of the Capitol with Democrats & acknowledge We the People really fought & won a year ago? One Republican showed up! You all need to be voted out if you are afraid to stand for us! Ha ha get in good job

About Carl Goldman

Carl Goldman, along with his wife, Jeri repurchased KHTS AM-1220, Santa Clarita’s hometown station on October 24, 2003. They owned it from 1990-1998, and then sold it to Clear Channel Communication in 1998, buying it back from Clear Channel in 2003. Since then, they have rebuilt KHTS as a critical voice of the Valley. In 2015 the radio station moved to its new headquarters on Main Street in Old Town Newhall, in the original Newhall Hardware building. In 2018 an FM was added, 98.1, with its signal being simulcast with AM-1220. In January 2020, Carl and Jeri cruised on the Diamond Princess. Carl was one of the first Americans to come down with Covid-19. Months earlier he was impacted by Guillain Barre Syndrome as a result of a Shingles vaccine in September 2019. He is still in recovery from the vaccine.
