Los Angeles Public Works has issued a mudflow forecast for burn scars throughout the County including ones in the Santa Clarita Valley.
Los Angeles County Public Works has issued a PHASE 2 mudflow forecast for the Agua, Owen, Land, and Fish Fires.
With a phase 2 mudflow forecast residents can expect moderate debris and mudflows possible at more widespread locations. Some streets may be completely blocked by debris. Depending on location and terrain, some structures may be endangered, in addition to those advised to be prepared to evacuate with any forecast of rain, according to Public Works officials.
A PHASE 1 mudflow forecast has been issued for the Grandview, Ranch2, Bobcat, Lake, Tujunga, and Soledad Fires.
During a phase 1 forecast, residents can expect small isolated debris and mudflows possible at specific public infrastructure locations. Streets may be flooded or blocked by debris. Reports of debris on private property may be received by emergency response entities. A few structures may be endangered, in addition to those advised to be prepared to evacuate with any forecast of rain, according to Public Works officials.
All other burn areas have been issued a NO PHASE forecast. The debris flow forecast is valid from Tuesday Feb. 6, 2024, at 10 a.m. through Tuesday Feb. 6th, 2024, at 6 p.m..
