Realtors Give Back To the Community On ‘Red Day’

khts_givingbackFor one day a year, they put aside the multiple listings and power suits, roll up their sleeves and get busy.

Thursday was “Red Day” at Kellar Williams Realty at Springfield and Tourney Road. Realtors organized a blood drive and collected blankets for the homeless shelter and canned food for the SCV Food Pantry.

“Our slogan is ‘Give Where We Live,’” explained Deanna Rivetti, who works at the office.

Rivetti said that blood donors were lined up to take their turn in the real estate office conference room and donations had been steady since the tables opened at noon. More than 70 blankets had been delivered to the office and 45 bags of canned food were crowding the aisles by 2 o’clock.

Out of the 287 agents assigned to the Springfield office, Rivetti said that 100 agents had committed to take the day away from work and help out their community.
