The city of Santa Clarita is receiving the 21st annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement for the sixth time, city officials announced Monday.

The city of Santa Clarita is receiving the 21st annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement for the sixth time, city officials announced Monday.

The award is presented by the National Procurement Institute Inc., which recognizes the city’s purchasing and policies practices through innovation, professionalism, productivity, e-procurement and leadership.

Santa Clarita’s Centralized Purchasing Authority, eProcurement practices and multiple-criteria bid process received high honors and recognition among the judges.

The city was also recognized in several other areas including its creative and successful annual Vendor Outreach program, internal customer training programs, the use of electronic systems for bids, quotes and online surplus auctions and employee Procurement Card program.

Santa Clarita is one of 72 cities in the country and Canada to receive this award.

The Achievement of Excellence in Procurement award is awarded annually and is sponsored by every major procurement association in the United States.
