Even before the pandemic began, Santa Clarita Grocery has been working throughout the year to help aid valley residents suffering from food insecurity.

As a non-profit whose focus is ending hunger in the Santa Clarita Valley, Santa Clarita Grocery spends 99 cents of every dollar donated directly benefiting community members in need of nutritional support.
Along with other members of the Santa Clarita Coalition, Santa Clarita Grocery is dedicated to supporting the most vulnerable members of the Santa Clarita community.
Rather than operating solely during the holidays, as many other local food drives do, the volunteer-led Santa Clarita food pantry operates throughout the year to support families suffering from food insecurity.
Each week, Santa Clarita Grocery volunteers organize donated food items and shop for additional groceries, then distribute those fresh foods, produce, bread, canned goods and other items to those in need.
Volunteers also provide a friendly point of contact for those who don’t feel they have anywhere else to turn. Santa Clarita Grocery officials report that, while many enter their doors upset, the friendly and welcoming atmosphere set by their volunteers often leaves their benefactors smiling after seeing their needs are met.
While residents work to overcome the recent economic downturn, the Santa Clarita food pantry aims to support the community and help make sure every family has enough food to stay healthy and secure.
