White passed for 253 yards with a rushing touchdown and the game-winning touchdown pass with under two minutes to play to help guide the Memphis Tigers to a 29-24 AAC Championship victory over Cincinnati, a 12-1 regular season record, and a berth in the Goodyear Cotton Bowl.
When Brady White arrived in Tempe in 2015, he came to the Arizona State Sun Devils as the No. 4 quarterback recruit in the country, a U.S. Army All-American and the highest rated high school prospect in the program’s history. He redshirted in 2015, after being beaten out by Manny Wilkins (now a practice squad player for the Green Bay Packers) for the starting quarterback position.
White played sparingly in 2016, before a foot injury derailed his season and kept him out of 2017 as well.
With his college football career hanging in the balance, he opted to make a move, transferring to the University of Memphis in early 2018, reuniting with Mike Norvell, the head coach of the Tigers who recruited White to ASU as the offensive coordinator of the Sun Devils from 2012-2015. The move as a graduate transfer allowed for White to be eligible immediately for both the 2018 and 2019 seasons.

White had a good year in 2018, with a 26/9 touchdown to interception ratio, but the team was not as successful as a whole, falling to the University of Central Florida in the AAC championship game and then to Wake Forest a few weeks later in the Birmingham Bowl for an 8-6 record.
As a senior in 2019, Brady White has been exceptional. White’s in the top ten in every major passing category, including sixth in touchdown passes (33) and ninth in passing yards (3,560).
This season, White’s individual success has also led to success for the whole team. The Memphis Tigers were a 30-28 loss at Temple away from a perfect 13-0 record. White threw for 363 yards in that loss, the most in his career and one of five 300-yard passing games this season.
But they followed that loss up with seven straight wins, including back-to-back wins against 19th ranked Cincinnati, culminating in the Tigers first American Athletic Conference Football Championship.

The AAC win vaulted the No. 17 Tigers to a “New Year’s Six” bowl berth. Memphis will take on No. 10 Penn State in the Cotton Bowl at AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. White will have the opportunity to showcase to a national audience and win a historic bowl game against a college football power.
From appearing in just four games at Arizona State to a Cotton Bowl victory over Penn State would put the exclamation point on quite the career for the former Hart star.
It should be enough to garner some attention from NFL front offices ahead of the 2020 NFL Draft.
Whatever the case, Santa Clarita will be tuning in to ESPN at 9 am on December 28th to see Brady White lead the Memphis Tigers in the Cotton Bowl Classic.
