Lou Williams And Lakers Rally Late To Beat Kings

The Los Angeles Lakers behind the efforts of both Lou Williams and D’Angelo Russell overcame a near 20 point first half deficit to hold on and win late in Sacramento.

Lou Williams collected 13 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter that solidified the Lakers closing out their 101-91 victory in Sacramento on Thursday night.

While the Kings overcame a run of poor shooting, they did manage to tie the game at 82 late in the fourth quarter; however, the Lakers pinned the Kings to the wall with an impressive 10-0 run late in the ballgame.

Los Angeles also had five players score in double digits figures, and four who scored over 15 points. Lou Williams led the way with 21 points off the bench, D’Angelo Russell followed with 17 points, Nick Young with 16 points, Julius Randle with 15 points.

For the Kings, DeMarcus Cousins had a strong game finishing with 28 points and nine rebounds. His teammate Rudy Gay had 15 points and eight rebounds.

Controversy stirred up after the game as both former University of Kentucky players Julius Randle and DeMarcus Cousins got into a confrontation with each other. Cousins was quoted on saying, “Just some friendly UK love… Julius is like my little brother.” according to a tweet from Sport Illustrated’s Ben Golliver.

The Lakers will take on the New Orleans Pelicans Saturday night in New Orleans. Tip off will be at 4:00 p.m. PT.
