Santa Clarita Sports Report – December 11, 2015

Santa Clarita High School Soccer

Three Foothill League boys soccer teams head to the weekend  with unbeaten records.

Saugus (3-0) takes its three game winning streak into an evening game with Sylmar tonight at home. Kickoff is at 5:15 pm.

The Division IV No. 2 Indians (2-0-2) of Hart High School will head to Harvard-Westlake this evening for a 5:15 match with the Wolverines. The Indians are coming off a 1-1 tie with Notre Dame earlier in the week.

Saturday has a slate of tournament games for both West Ranch (0-2-2) and Valencia (3-0-1)

In the Eagle Cup, the Wildcats face Lancaster and the Vikings do battle with Los Osos Grizzlies in the Arcadia Winter Cup.

No. 4 Hart (2-1-2) girls’ soccer team scored on either side of the break to defeat Newport Harbor in the Aliso Cup, 2-0. The win puts the Indians in the Championship bracket on Saturday.

Elsewhere in the Foothill League, the Saugus Centurions (2-1) are on the road tonight against Calabasas High School. Kickoff is at 6:15 pm.

Los Angeles Lakers

One of the last remaining matchups between two future Hall of Famers and longtime rivals gets going tonight in San Antonio between Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant.

Lakers and Spurs tip-off at 6:30.
