Santa Clarita Blue Heat

The Heat (3-1-3) picked up four points in Colorado over the weekend to move into 2nd in the UWS -West Conference standings with one game left to play.

Friday, Santa Clarita dominated Colorado (Storm) in a 5-1 victory. It was a complete team effort with five different scorers, including a 4-0 lead at halftime.

Sunday, the Blue Heat surrendered a 2-1 halftime lead to the Colorado Pride in the 63rd minute and was unable to regain the lead for the full three points (which would have drawn the team even with Real Salt Lake in first place).

Heat striker Kodi Lavrusky was the only player to score in both games, giving her four goals on the season.

Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers have won 13 of 16 home games, their best home stretch of the 2016 season.

After dropping the first of a four-game series against San Diego, Los Angeles reeled off three straight wins to get to the All-Star break in the top Wild Card spot with a 51-40 record.

LA will be in Arizona Friday when the second half of the season resumes.
