Santa Clarita High School Baseball

Ben Fariss might have the hottest bat in the Santa Clarita Valley. The Junior outfielder delivered again for Valencia with three doubles and three runs batted in to help the Vikings snatch an Anaheim Lions Tournament victory from Santa Monica Monday afternoon.

Headed to the bottom of the sixth inning down 7-3, the Vikings (winners of eleven in a row) exploded for five runs to take the Battle of the Vikings (Santa Monica has the same mascot), 8-7.

Trace Eldridge was brilliant in long relief for Valencia. Thrust in to stop the bleeding, the junior pitched three scoreless innings and struck out five to keep the Vikings alive.

Valencia’s next opponent in the Lions Tournament is Torrance High School. First pitch is today at 3 pm.

College of the Canyons

Southern California No. 4 Cougars Baseball hits the home diamond this afternoon for a Western State Conference series with West Los Angeles. The Cougars are looking for their sixth consecutive victory.

Cougars Softball is also at home today. Canyons puts its own three-game winning streak on the line today as the Cougars open a two-game home series with Glendale. First pitch is at 1 O’clock.

The Master’s College

Mustangs Baseball is taking a break from GSAC play Tuesday for a non-conference game with Bethesda. First pitch from Lou Herwaldt Stadium is at 3 pm.
