West Ranch High School has officially announced the hiring of Trevor Brown as its new head baseball coach, marking the beginning of a new era for the program just days after celebrating a historic CIF-SS Division 2 championship.
“We are thrilled to announce the appointment of Trevor Brown as our new Head Baseball Coach! This is an incredibly exciting time for our program as we believe Coach Brown will lead our team to continued success and development,” the school said in a press release.
The announcement comes on the heels of West Ranch’s thrilling 2-1 victory over Mater Dei in the CIF-SS Division 2 championship game at Cal State Fullerton’s Goodwin Field — the school’s first-ever baseball title. The win capped off an emotional retirement tour for the previous head coach, Ryan Lindgreen, and marked a high point in program history.
Brown arrives at West Ranch with a strong resume both on the field and in the dugout. A Newhall native and Hart High School graduate, Brown played collegiately at UCLA before being drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 2012 MLB Draft.
Following his playing career, Brown made a smooth transition to coaching, most recently serving as head coach at Trinity High School. There, he led the program to back-to-back Heritage League championships in 2023 and 2024 and was honored as the 2023 Heritage League Coach of the Year.
“Coach Brown comes to us with a strong and impressive coaching background,” the press release stated. “Beyond his coaching experience, Coach Brown also brings the invaluable experience of having played for the San Francisco Giants. This unique perspective will undoubtedly provide our players with an unparalleled level of insight and mentorship.”
School officials say they are confident Brown will build on the program’s recent success by emphasizing player development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
“Coach Brown’s leadership, expertise, and passion for the game will be instrumental in fostering a positive and competitive environment for our student-athletes, both on and off the field,” the release continued.
Brown will be formally introduced to parents at a meeting scheduled for Monday, June 9, at 7 p.m., with the exact location to be announced soon.
