West Ranch Wildcats

Head Coach: Chris Varner

2015 record: 3-7, 0-5 in league

Key returners: Wyatt Eget, QB, Sr.;

West Ranch started hot on offense last season but fizzled out during Foothill League play. Chris Varner was tabbed with turning a last-place program into a respected team in the Santa Clarita Valley. It starts with being a more physical team. Too often in years past the team was pushed around. The Wildcats aren’t a big team, but they should be tougher with what they showed in Simi Valley in Week Zero, coming up just a 2-pt conversion short in a 28-26 loss. They made big plays on offense and special teams and the Camacho twins (Jovan and Ryan) look to be team mainstays for the foreseeable future. Sophomores playing in their first varsity games, Jovan and Ryan both scored touchdowns to swing momentum back in the Wildcats’ favor in a tight game.
