Friday, 7 p.m., Chaminade High School
The Santa Clarita Chrisitan School (SCCS) boys basketball team advanced to the semi-final of the CIF Southern Section (CIF-SS) Division 2AA playoffs with a home win over Fairmont Prep on Tuesday. Now the Cardinals have to go on the road for the first time this postseason to take on Chaminade for a chance to advance to the CIF championship.
Trinity (19-6) vs. Sierra Vista (16-14-1)
Boys Basketball
Friday, 7 p.m., Castaic High School
Trinity has breezed through the first three rounds of the CIF-SS Division 5A playoffs with a 38-point average margin of victory thus far, and now stand one game away from a championship appearance. They’ll have to get through Sierra Vista to get there, but have the benefit of a home crowd. Should the Knights advance, they can expect to face the winner of the Banning vs. Cathedral City matchup in the championship game.
#2 Master’s (26-1) vs. #4 Westmont (22-3)
Women’s Basketball
Saturday, 5:30 p.m., The Master’s University
Master’s is putting together a remarkable season, with their single loss coming against a top five-ranked opponent nearly one month ago to Vanguard University. The Mustangs have put together seven straight wins since that loss, and now have the chance for a statement game against another top-ranked team, Westmont College. The Master’s girls were able to pick up a 64-55 win over Westmont in their matchup earlier this season and now have the home-court advantage for the rematch.
#16 Master’s (20-7) vs. #4 Westmont (25-2)
Men’s Basketball
Saturday, 7:30 p.m., The Master’s University
It’s been somewhat of an up-and-down season for the Mustangs, as they’ve gone 7-9 since the end of the 11-game win streak they opened the season with. They have the opportunity for a marquee win against the NAIA’s fourth-ranked division 1 team, Westmont College. Master’s was able to get the best of the Warriors in their first meeting earlier this season, as the Mustangs picked up a 70-69 win. They’ll look to find more of that success on Saturday.
