A magnitude 4.2 earthquake struck near San Fernando early Thursday morning, with residents across Santa Clarita reportedly feeling the quake.
Update (7:00 a.m.): Several aftershocks have been reported Thursday morning, though none have been as powerful as the initial temblor.
Original story: At around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, a magnitude 4.2 earthquake was reported near San Fernando, according to preliminary findings with the United States Geological Survey.

The quake could be felt across the Santa Clarita Valley, with residents from Canyon Country to Castaic reportedly being awoken by it.
No injures or damage have been reported in the Santa Clarita Valley as a result of the quake as of 4:40 a.m. Thursday.
