A magnitude 5.5 earthquake struck near Searles Valley on Wednesday, with residents across Santa Clarita reportedly feeling the quake.
Preliminary reports from the United States Geological Survey (USGS) classified the magnitude of the quake at 5.1, but additional measurements place it at 5.5.
At around 6:33 p.m. on Wednesday, a magnitude 5.5 earthquake was reported 10.56 miles south of Searles Valley, according to officials with the United States Geological Survey.
Residents across the Santa Clarita Valley reportedly felt the earthquake, from Canyon Country to Stevenson Ranch.
No damage had been reported in Santa Clarita as of 6:40 p.m. Wednesday.
