Saugus Power Outage Impacts Over 2,400

Over 2,400 customers with Southern California Edison (SCE) lost power Wednesday evening as a result of a Saugus power outage.

At around 6:30 p.m. Monday, residents in the portion of Saugus west of Bouquet Canyon Road began to report a loss of power near Benz Road.

At 6:45 p.m. Monday, SCE officials confirmed that they had received reports of the Saugus power outage, disclosing that an estimated 2,413 of their customers were impacted as a result.

While no cause for the outage had been determined as of 7 p.m., SCE officials say that power should be restored to most individuals by 7:15 p.m. Wednesday.

The outage is being called a repair outage by SoCal Edison, “an outage caused by unexpected circumstances, such as traffic accidents or severe weather.”

It should be noted that this outage is not believed to be related to the Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS) that are currently under consideration on the edges of the Santa Clarita Valley.

The area reportedly without power was just outside of PSPS consideration areas as of 7 p.m., according to the SCE outage website.

  1. Your story is terrible. it’s dated Wednesday but talks about what happened on monday. It’s completely misleading and unhelpful to anybody reading it to know what the heck is going on. You caused a lot of people to be upset that our power was just now going out when by the time you posted the story it looks like it was due to come back on for everyone.

  2. I so sick of 5he power outages. It alway Canyon County. O thanksgiving we were shut off about 1 pm . We all had are partway cooked turkeys cooked people where going to Friends or families homes just to cook and eat a turkey dinner.if you ask me isn’t that forcing people to socialize in bigger crowds.
