Congresswoman Katie Hill ‘Stands With Community’ In Response To Saddleridge Fire

Congresswoman Katie Hill, D-Agua Dulce, has signed a letter to President Donald Trump asking for additional resources in order to combat the Saddleridge Fire.

In response to the Saddleridge Fire, which has burned through over 7,500 acres as of 9:30 a.m. Saturday,  Congresswoman Katie Hill has joined a bipartisan group of elected officials at the federal, state, and local level, as well as first responders, and dedicated volunteers, to give updates and communicate resources to affected constituents of CA-25 and across the region.

“My thoughts and prayers are with every family affected by this disaster as well as every firefighter and first responder working tirelessly to keep us safe,” Hill said. “Not only has Porter Ranch been fully evacuated, but many of the first responders fighting on the front lines live throughout our community in the Simi, Santa Clarita, and Antelope Valleys.

While Governor Gavin Newsom has already secured a Fire Management Assistance Grant from FEMA, Hill signed a letter to President Trump alongside Representatives Brad Sherman and Tony Cardenas to request additional resources for first responders and the people of her community. The text of that letter can be found here.

“I will work tirelessly to ensure my constituents and our first responders have as many resources available to them as possible,” Hill said. “In the aftermath of this fire, my team will also be there to aid with FEMA requests and document replacements. Together, we will overcome this difficult time, stronger than ever.”

Hill’s office continues to stay in touch with the Governor’s Office, FEMA, the California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services, local officials, and local first responders, and will work with federal and state officials to ensure communication on the ground.

“This tragedy displays our community’s ability to come together to keep each other safe in times of dire need,” Hill said. “I will do everything in my power to ensure we have the federal support we need for our community. My team and I will continue to monitor the progress of the fire, and will work to keep our constituents informed with updates and resources.”

  1. Interesting to hear “thoughts and prayers” from a democrat after how much she railed against Republicans for using that same line. She herself exclaimed how that line meant nothing to victims…

  2. Thoughts and prayers……?

The irony of her using that phrase against Republicans is not lost on me…..

  3. Oh the irony of hearing her say “thoughts and prayers” after all the guff she gave Republicans for using that phrase. She has already claimed that “thoughts and prayers” means nothing. Apparently it is different when she says it.

  4. Hey get to work we are not paying those officer’s to stand around we pay them to give us tickets. It’s an over paid police city now.

    • I have to agree with you Will, SCV is becoming a strange world of over paid police personnel, coupled with strange America hating leftists represented by Katie Hill . Interesting that KHTS won’t report on Hills infidelity scandal.

  5. I blame the morons who voted her in to office.

  6. She is a liar. Katie Hill and the Democratic Party hate cops!!!! Thank God for Mike Garcia in 2020

  7. What law enforcement is that? Clearly not sheriff. Fake photo op by this BS rep.

  8. There is something odd about this news article. It has the dateline of Oct 10 at 10:20 pm, just over an hour after the Saddleridge fire started, but in the 1st paragraph it quotes data as of 9:30 am on Saturday, Oct 12th! And there’s no way any help would have been requested as of late in the evening on Thursday night because nobody knew how bad the SCV was going to be affected until later.

  9. Hey Katie,
Can you request some money for the people of Agua Dulce who lost freezers full of food due to you supporting the turning off of electricity when the wind blows? Maybe you can request generators for each of the residents so they can run their water wells to keep their landscape hydrated and not turn it to tinder to start their property on fire.
Edison just replaced the poles and wires in Agua Dulce yet the electricity was turned off because of wind! Really?
It is my opinion that Edison wanted you to see personally the stupidity of shutting down not only people’s electricity but also in effect their water as well in an area that has just been updated. They couldn’t turn off you house specifically so they turned off the entire area just to make it look believable. Who believes an area with new wiring needs to be shut down?

  10. Irony, you mean like your unfit, unstable, and morally corrupt leader/president Trump claiming the following: no collusion, treason, fake news, bullying, abandoning the Kurds, turning on our French, German, Canadian and Australian allies, demanding the whistleblower be unmasked, threatening to imprison, shot or kill his political opponents, cozying up to Putin, Erdogan, Kim Jong-Un, withholding military aid to the Ukraine, Giuliani, Manafort, Flynn, Pompeo, etal., asking China and Russia to interfere with our elections; seriously by now you should get the point. So go ahead, you dumbass Republicans criticize Katie Hill, but remain silent as your president runs rough shod over our constitution and laws; I see you have your priorities straight.
