A Santa Clarita brush fire broke out in the wash near Auto Center Court Thursday morning.
The brush fire, named the Posey Fire, was reported at about 6:50 a.m. Thursday near Valencia Boulevard and Auto Center Court, in the brush behind the William S. Hart Baseball & Softball Complex, according to Kaitlyn Aldana, spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Two small spot fires were discovered in the brush of the dry riverbed, totaling approximately 20 by 20 feet in size, according to Aldana.
No injuries were reported.
Firefighters t the scene suspected the cause of the blaze to be tied to a cooking fire in use by an unhoused person in the wash.
