A brush fire, dubbed the Hasley Fire, in Castaic has prompted a response from firefighters Thursday, officials said.
UPDATE: 2:20 p.m. — Forward progress on the Hasley Fire in Castaic has been stopped at about five acres, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Crews are expected to remain on scene to “mop up” the remaining hot spots, according to Fire officials.
Around 1:45 p.m. first responders received reports of a brush fire near Hasley Canyon Road near Del Valle Road, said Leslie Lua a spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
Units on scene reporting three to five acres heading to the East, according to the Fire Department.
The Castaic fire is burning in light to medium fuels with no structures threatened as of 1:50 p.m., according to Fire officials.
The brush fire has the potential to grow to up to 30 acres, according to firefighters.
