A tractor carrying lumber down the southbound 5 Freeway caught fire early Wednesday morning, causing heavy traffic near Calgrove Boulevard.
At approximately 6:02 a.m., firefighters with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to reports of a vehicle fire on the southbound 5 Freeway just north of the Newhall Pass, according to Marvin Lim, dispatch supervisor for the department.
“There was a fully involved tractor carrying lumber,” Lim said.
Firefighters were able to extinguish the blaze by 7 a.m., as that is when Lim says units went listed as available.
