A Bouquet Canyon Road closure is scheduled from Friday night through Saturday morning to allow Southern California Edison workers to replace a street light, officials said.

The section of Bouquet Canyon Road between David Way and Shadow Valley is set to be closed from 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 20 to 6 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 21, according to City of Santa Clarita officials.

“Message boards have been placed at both ends of the closure by SoCal Edison to inform drivers and detour signage will be posted to help drivers get around the closure during those times,” said Kevin Strauss, communications specialist for the City of Santa Clarita.

The road is set to allow travel for emergency vehicles during repairs, according to a press release from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Works.

While officials said the majority of the work would be done overnight, both northbound and southbound traffic on the road are expected to be impacted by the repairs.

Drivers are encouraged to take alternate routes, including Vazquez Canyon Road, during the planned Bouquet Canyon Road closure.
