Bouquet Canyon, San Francisquito Canyon Closed Due To Snow

Bouquet Canyon Road and San Francisquito Canyon Road are closed Thursday morning due to snow, officials said.

UPDATE: 1:50 p.m. — Bouquet Canyon Road is open to residents in the area and emergency vehicles, according to Public Works officials.

Just after 6 a.m. Thursday, the Los Angeles County Public Works Department shut down San Francisquito Canyon from Elizabeth Lake Road to Spunky Canyon Road, according to Public Works officials.

Snow and several crashes also prompted the closure of Bouquet Canyon at about 9 a.m. Thursday from Elizabeth Lake to Spunky Canyon Road, according to the L.A. County Public Works Department.

The duration of both closures is unknown, according to Public Works officials.

These Santa Clarita canyon closures come at the heels of the closure of the 5 Freeway in the Grapevine Wednesday evening.

Drivers looking to avoid the closures are advised to take Highway 126 to US-101 or the 14 Freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol.
