An 18-wheeler Amazon trailer was left partially hanging off of a bridge on San Francisquito Canyon Road early Thursday morning, blocking the entire road for at least a full day.
San Francisquito Reopens (4:56 p.m.)
San Francisquito Canyon Road has been reopened, “following repairs” to the bridge that was damaged in the collision, according to Jerjon Lee, spokesperson for Los Angeles County Department of Public Works.
Original Story
The incident was first reported at about 12:27 a.m. Thursday, at the bridge that passes over San Francisquito Creek near Stator Lane, just north of Power Plant 2, according to California Highway Patrol (CHP) incident logs.
No injuries were reported, however, the rear right end of the trailer went through the guardrails of the bridge and was left hanging over the creek.
San Francisquito Canyon Road has been closed between Copper Hill Road in Santa Clarita and Spunky Canyon Road in Green Valley, according to Los Angeles County Department of Public Works officials.
A detour is available via Bouquet Canyon Road.
The closure may continue into Friday for repairs, as the integrity of the bridge remains in question, according to L.A. Public Works.
San Francisquito Canyon Road serves approximately 6,000 vehicles daily, according to Kerjon Lee, spokesperson for L.A. Public Works.

What a dumb-arse. No Semi’s on Canyon Roads.
I second that . If Lake Hughes is open he should have taken that route
No, that is a canyon road, too. 14 or the 101.
There were tons of idiots driving semis on that canyon yesterday and today because of the 5 closure due to the fire. There needs to be more signage telling them not to drive it since common sense doesn’t prevail.
The article misses an important fact that semi trucks are prohibited on this road. There have been hundreds if not more trucks traversing this road without being cited. The policing resources have been spread thin but there should be at least one person at the head of the road not allowing trucks through.
God forbid if another fire breaks out, that big semi would block fleeing & emergency vehicles! With the trucker shortage & driver licenses being handed out to “anyone”, who knows who will be doing these types of stupid things! Thanks Liberals for your continued chaos!
