GoFundMe Created For Golden Valley Graduate Killed In Sierra Highway Crash

A GoFundMe fundraiser has been launched to support the family of 18-year-old Sinai Barraza, a recent Golden Valley High School graduate, who tragically lost her life in a car crash last Thursday in Canyon Country.

Barraza, who graduated with the Golden Valley High School Class of 2025, was identified by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office as the victim of a fatal crash on Sierra Highway, just outside College of the Canyons’ Canyon Country campus.

The collision occurred around 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the 17200 block of Sierra Highway.

Barraza was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. The driver of the other vehicle was transported to the hospital; their condition has not been released. The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station’s Traffic Office is continuing to investigate the cause of the crash.

Friends and family described Barraza as full of life and dreams for the future. She had recently begun studies at College of the Canyons.

A family friend, Vivian, created a GoFundMe page to help cover funeral expenses and support Barraza’s parents during this heartbreaking time.

“With deep pain in our hearts, we ask for help for the Flores family in these difficult moments with the unfortunate death of their daughter,” Vivian wrote on the fundraiser. “Sinai… was an 18-year-old girl with great dreams to fulfill, full of life and illusions. Her mission ended on Sept. 4, in which she lost her life in a fatal car accident, leaving a tremendous deep pain to her parents, brothers, aunts and relatives.”

The GoFundMe asks for donations of any amount, with Vivian writing that “union is strength” and that the family simply wishes to give Barraza “the eternal rest that she deserves.”
