Metrolink Strikes Unoccupied Vehicle In Canyon Country

A Metrolink train struck a vehicle parked on the tracks in Canyon Country on Tuesday evening, officials said.

Around 6:40 p.m., the train reportedly struck the unoccupied vehicle near Lang Station Road and Soledad Canyon Road, between the Via Princessa and Vincent Grade Acton Stations, said Scott Johnson, a Metrolink spokesperson.

First responders and Metrolink officials were unsure why the vehicle was stopped on the tracks as of Tuesday evening.

“No one on the train was injured,“ said Amy McBride, dispatch supervisor for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

After the crash was reported, a Metrolink staff member who responded to the scene reportedly became stuck in a ditch, Johnson said.

“When the staff member was trying to get unstuck, he got injured,“ Johnson said.

As of 7:45 p.m., Fire officials have not transported anyone to the hospital, according to officials.

  1. What does this MEAN?
Please… someone needs to proof read these articles before the are published.

“After the crash was reported, a Metrolink staff member who responded to the scene reportedly got stuck in a ditch”..

(ok, so it was not this guy who was stuck in the ditch and then got struck by the train, because this guy was called AFTER the crash was reported and then he got stuck in the ditch)

“When the staff member was trying to get unstuck, he got injured”

So why was the car on tracks?
The staff member got injured…? But no one was taken to the hospital…

SERIOUSLY! If you are going to report the NEWS… make it NEWS that actually makes sense at least.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
