A multi-vehicle 5 Freeway crash in Valencia Thursday has sent one person to the hospital, according to officials.

The crash was first reported at about 12:50 p.m. on the southbound 5 Freeway near Valencia Boulevard on the bypass lane involving three vehicles, said Sky Cornell, an inspector with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“There was a request with a truck for someone trapped,” Cornell said.

However, firefighters were able to free the trapped person before additional help arrived on scene.

At the time of the crash the bypass lane was completely blocked, according to officials.

As of 1:25 p.m. no SigAlerts have been issued, according to CHP officials.
