Possible Newhall Hit-And-Run Sends One To Hospital

One person was taken to a nearby hospital after being struck in a possible Newhall hit-and-run incident Monday evening.

At around 7:10 p.m. Monday, officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department received reports of a traffic collision near the intersection of Railroad Avenue and 8th Street in Newhall.

“It was a vehicle versus pedestrian,” said Supervisor Ornelas with the department

One person was taken to a nearby hospital as a result of the collision, Ornelas added.

Officials later learned that the crash may have been an instance of hit-and-run, as the vehicle reportedly involved in the incident was not found at the site of the crash, according to officials on scene.

While initial reports indicate the a damaged red Ford Mustang was seen leaving the scene, Lt. Morhoff with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station was unable to confirm any details regarding the incident.

All northbound traffic for Railroad Ave. was temporarily shut down in the area as a result, with officials redirecting traffic through Main Street, according to officials on scene.
