UPDATE: Motorcyclist Dies At Hospital Following Airlift Response

UPDATE as of 7:21 p.m. : A motorcyclist airlifted to the hospital Saturday was pronounced deceased upon arrival, due to major injuries sustained from the accident, according to officials.

One individual was airlifted to Henry Mayo Newhall Hospital Saturday after officials received reports of a downed motorcyclist.

Just after 11:45 a.m. Saturday, officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to reports of a downed motorcyclist on Soledad Canyon Road and Agua Dulce Canyon Road, according to officials.

According to traffic logs from the California Highway Patrol, the motorcyclist was, “down in pain.”

The driver of the first vehicle stopped near the west shoulder of Soledad Canyon Road, south of Agua Dulce Canyon Road and exited, according to officials. 

The motorcycle subsequently struck the left rear of the first vehicle, causing the motorcyclist to sustain major injuries, officials added. 

Initial reports indicate that the person transported had arterial bleeding.

The driver of the first vehicle did not sustain injuries due to the collision, officials said. 

The name of the deceased is being withheld until the next of kin are notified.
