One Detained In Saugus After Rollover Crash On Plum Canyon

One person was detained Monday evening after their vehicle overturned on Plum Canyon Road, knocking a tree down and blocking one lane of traffic.

Just after 7 p.m. Monday, officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department received reports of an expanded traffic collision on Plum Canyon Rd. near Bouquet Canyon Road.

“A vehicle rolled over,” said Supervisor Ornelas with the department. “No persons were trapped.”

When first responders arrived on scene, they found a gray pickup truck had collided with a tree on along the road, causing the vehicle to overturn and block the right turn lane on the westbound side of Plum Canyon Rd.

While no injuries were reported as result of the crash, one person was detained by deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station for alleged drug possession, according to an official on scene.

Units were still working to clear the incident as of 7:35 p.m. Monday.

  1. From the photo of the car and tree, I’d call it a draw. And note the sign. Perfect.

  2. Not surprising considering the speed everyone drives on Plum and the lack of enforcement.

  3. Seems that just about every accident, there is always a car overturned …

  4. Ya gotta be watchful for all those trees that jump in the way of all those cars and trucks that accidentally end up hitting them. Beware the trees!

  5. well it aint a draw, that tree you wont see again, and note that the fool had be taken into custody for drug possession, one would believe he was on some, while speeding.. this is outta hand, he will be out wednesday, if not today.. the tree will be cut up and tossed aside while drugs walk free
