A pedestrian was killed near Gorman early Sunday morning after being struck by a car on Highway 138, officials said.
Around 5:35 a.m. Sunday, first responders received a call for a traffic collision involving a pedestrian on the eastbound side of Highway 138 and Quail Lake Road near Gorman, according to Los Angeles County Fire Department dispatch supervisor Ed Pickett.
“A female was struck by a vehicle, and then they cancelled all of our units at the scene,” said Pickett. “So, she was pronounced DOA.”
The woman was struck by a grey pick-up truck in the early hours of the morning, and the circumstances of the crash are currently under investigation.
The identity of the victim has not been released as of Sunday afternoon, according to Los Angeles County Coroner’s officials.

Drove by this unfortunate scene at 8:00am, was attending a Boy Scouts fishing derby at Quail Lake right across the street….the body was still lying on the side of the road until 9:00am, poorly covered by the yellow tarp…is this a normal amount of time for a DB to be roadside?
Thoughts and prayers to the victims family. RIP
It can take time. A dead body may not be moved until the coroner conducts an initial investigation.
