One patient was transported to the hospital after a Castaic crash on the northbound I-5 Tuesday evening.

Just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, reports were received of a solo vehicle crash on the northbound 5 freeway near Parker Road in Castaic, according to fire officials.

“We got reports of a car that came off the freeway,” said Supervisor Bernard Peters from Los Angeles County Fire Department. “It landed in the dirt off the freeway.”

One patient was put in an ambulance and sent to a nearby hospital just after 6 p.m.

The crashed vehicle was a truck carrying oranges which spilled onto the roadside and down the embankment where the vehicle ended up, according to officials on scene.
