One person was trapped inside a vehicle Tuesday afternoon after a rollover 5 Freeway crash north of Castaic, officials said.
Around 2:55 p.m. Tuesday, first responders received reports of a traffic collision on the northbound 5 Freeway near Templin Highway, said Austin Bennett, a spokesperson with the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
“It was a pick-up truck on its roof,” Bennett said.
When units arrived on scene, they reported one person was trapped, Bennett said.
The victim later self-extricated themselves from the vehicle, according to Fire officials.
At around 3:10 p.m., firefighters on scene requested a helicopter to respond, and to land on the 5 Freeway, according to officials.
All northbound lanes of the I-5 at Templin Highway were temporarily closed as of about 3:15 p.m. Tuesday for the airlift, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The condition of the victim is unknown as of Tuesday afternoon.
