UPDATE: Officials closed the incident at approximately 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, leaving the roadway clear for traffic.

The traffic collision is cleared up and everything is back to normal.” said Lieutenant Andrew Dahring with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Around 2:30 p.m. emergency personnel responded to a traffic collision on Sierra Highway and Remsen Street for a vehicle that collided with a pole, said Scott Elliott, an inspector for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

Units at the scene reported there was a vehicle that hit a pole, with wires down across the roadway, according to Fire officials.

“Edison was requested,” Elliott said.

As a result of the crash, deputies with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station closed traffic down in both directions until the wires could be de-energized and cleared from the road.

An ambulance was requested; however, as of the publication of this article, officials could not determine if anyone was transported to the hospital.

“If they were, it is (minor) injuries,” Elliott said.

The duration of the closure of Sierra Highway is unknown as of Tuesday afternoon.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
