  1. Is it too much to ask drivers to slow down in the rain? It really grinds my gears when people ABSOLUTELY knows that it’s raining outside but still drive like it’s a sunny day. People… SERIOUSLY… slow down.

    • I think some drivers actually speed up when it rains….like they’re kids jumping into puddles of water and making a big splash. Seriously, I don’t get the lack of slowing down in the rain. I hydroplaned once when I was in my early 20’s. It instilled a healthy fear and respect for driving in the rain.

  2. Typical Santa Clarita driver. People should slow down get off their cell phone STOP texting and show consideration for all pedestrians bicyclist and fellow drivers. Our town would be a better, safer place to live. I hope everyone is OK.

  3. I would love for the reporter to do an update on this accident. I live here on the corner and heard the accident, I watched the rescue unfold and really would like to know how the injured men are.

  4. No BLACK Friday DEAL for these people.

  5. It is the speed they travel on Copper Hill. I do see the motor cop from time to time but I guess he has not ticketed everyone yet so hopefully they will learn a lesson!

  6. The traffic lights on Copperhill are very bad. They probably caused this accident.
There is no synchronization of the lights there, or anywhere else in Santa Clarita.

The lights never change when there are no cars that have to go through the intersections.
The lights change in the middle of a pack of cars causing the drivers to slam on their brakes.
Especially on the hills there and in wet weather, that causes a lot of accidents.
I think the city should look into reducing the accidents, injuries and deaths.
It is very dangerous there. Serious accidents happen almost weekly.

  7. Speed carelessness recklessness distracted driving caused the accident.

About Louie Diaz

Louie was born and raised in Santa Clarita. At the age of two Louie lost his vision due to a brain tumor. However, Louie doesn't let blindness stop him from doing what ever it is he wants to accomplish. Growing up some of his favorite hobbies were wood working, fishing and riding bikes. Louie graduated from College of the Canyon in December of 2017, with a Broadcast Journalism degree. Growing up Louie has always wanted to be a fire fighter or a police officer, but because of his blindness Louie knew that wouldn't work. Louie has always loved listening to police and fire radio traffic, using a scanner, and he figured if he was going to listen to the scanner so much, he should do something with it.
