Vehicle Overturned In Sierra Highway Crash, One Person Transported

A Sierra Highway crash involving an overturned vehicle led to one person being transported to the hospital Sunday, officials said.

Around 12:40 p.m. Sunday, first responders received calls of an overturned vehicle near the intersection of Sierra Highway and Davenport Road in Canyon Country, according to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles County Fire Department.

“The vehicle was on its side,” said the LACoFD spokesperson. “One person was transported.”

The crash was named the “Sierra Incident” due to the fact that the patient was trapped inside the vehicle, signifying the need for urgency amongst first responders.

The white vehicle, identified as a Toyota Corolla by officials on-scene, ended up overturned on its side up to 10 feet away from the main roadway after a large gust of wind, according to California Highway Patrol logs.

The male patient was transported to Henry Mayo Hospital and is in unknown condition, according to Fire officials.
