The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is on scene of the spill, according to Michael Comeaux, spokesperson for the department.
“It was several inches of dirt or mud,” Comeaux said. “We are on scene, and looking into the incident further.”
As of 10:30 a.m. Friday, the right three lanes of westbound Newhall Ranch Road are blocked, according to CHP logs.
The road is estimated to be reopened by 11 a.m. Friday, according to Caltrans officials.
