A chance of light rain is possible in the Santa Clarita Valley on Thursday, before conditions dry up and temperatures climb into the 90s.
Cool and cloudy conditions are expected throughout the day Thursday, with a chance for light rain, said Bryan Lewis, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service.
Lewis says that at most the Santa Clarita Valley could see is a tenth of an inch of rain.
However, by the weekend, conditions are expected to dry out and warm up.
“We are expecting it to warm up gradually but significantly starting (Friday),” Lewis said.
Temperatures are expected to peak by midweek, reaching the upper 80s to low 90s.
Lewis says that with the warmer temperatures, there is concern for the potential start of new brushfires.
